Havana, Dec 3 (Prensa Latina) The 2nd edition of the Cuba 2021 Business Forum became an important platform to show the transformations in the national economy, the best ways for trade, investment and the new Portfolio of Opportunities the country currently exhibits.

During the conclusions of the event, Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas explained that the Forum had quantitative and qualitative results higher to the previous edition, with a high and diverse national and international participation.

This event gathered more than 2,285 participants from 86 countries, among them eight Government’s officials, 23 chambers of commerce, 41 trade and investment promotion agencies, some 1,260 Cuban and foreign businessmen and 215 national non-state entities.

The Forum had a virtual fair, registered 617 entities from 46 countries and included new Cuban economic actors, such as the micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

Cabrisas praised how Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Planning, Alejandro Gil, updated on the transformations of the Cuban economy and its prospects for recovery amid the current complex context.

The presentation of the new Portfolio on Business Opportunities took place during this event, which has 678 projects for an estimated investment amount of 12.5 billion dollars, as well as the inclusion of 60 projects sponsored by the local governments.

The severe effects caused by the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba, whose losses in 2020 are estimated at 5.6 billion dollars, were denounced within the framework of this Forum.
