The Russian ambassador in Hanoi, Gennady Bezdetko, commented that the Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s stay in Russia, from November 29th to December 2nd, constitutes one of the most relevant events on the bilateral agenda this year.
The official newspaper of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nhan Dan and the VNA national news agency gave summaries of Xuan Phuc’s visit and highlighted the results of his talks with President Vladimir Putin and other top Russian leaders.
Both sides issued a joint statement reaffirming their determination to strengthen the strategic partnership with a vision towards 2030.
One of the most relevant points was the common interest in multiplying manifold the bilateral trade towards that year and tripling the investments of one country in the other.
Vietnam and Russia also agreed to continue their high-level political dialogues and to strengthen cooperation in defense, security and military technique, on the basis of international law and for the good of peace in the region and the world.
They also spoke out for the construction of a more equitable and democratic system of international relations in line with international law and the Charter of the United Nations (UN).
