The new decree was published Taliban Government Spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid, and stipulates that the relevant institutions must take measures for its implementation.
The decree has six paragraphs, one of which is about the consent to adult women to get married and the ban on doing it under coercion and pressure.
It also stipulates that women must not be treated as property; therefore, they will not be changed or donated in a peace agreement or to end animosity.
Moreover, widows will have legal rights over the dead husband’s assets and can remarry or choose their future.
The ministries of Hajj and Religious Affairs and Information and Culture, the Supreme Court, as well as provincial and district governors, must implement the decree and announce it to the public.
