Czech Rep. reinforces health measures to halt Covid-19

Prague, Dec 5 (Prensa Latina) The Czech Republic on Sunday reinforces health measures to stop the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, with more than 92,000 vaccine doses applied in 24 hours and immunization campaigns for people aged over five.

According to Health Ministry, as many as 92,500 doses of different vaccines were applied in just one single day, in other words, 22,700 more doses than a week ago, the International Prague Radio broadcast.

At least one million boosters have been applied so far, as the country´s toll of positive cases remains high (17,659 in one day.

6,500 people are nowadays admitted at the hospitals, 500 more than reported last week, while spread coefficient (patients infected before being hospitalized) is 0.92.

In addition, Covid-19 case incidence stood at 1,100 per 100,000 inhabitants, as the government is currently seeking to increase the booster doses applied to those aged over 60 and to people already fully vaccinated six months ago.

Czech Republic -with 10.8 million inhabitants- has already exceeded 2 million Covid-19 cases and reported over 100 deaths per day in the last week.
