Peruvian and Cuban Olympic Movements keep cooperation

Renzo-Manyari
Cali, Colombia, Dec 5 (Prensa Latina) The president of the Peruvian Olympic Committee (COP), Renzo Manyari, greeted today the renewal of a collaboration agreement with his Cuban counterpart, whose immense virtue and excellence in the sports sphere he praised.

The signing of this document marks the rebirth of a brotherly relationship that seeks to transcend the Peruvian Olympic movement, Manyari said.

He thanked for what his country has already achieved with the advice and support of Cuban specialists and mentioned as an example the 31 medals won so far in the First Junior Pan American Games Cali-Valle 2021, which are the result of years of joint work, he said.

The head of the COP also praised the fact that the agreement signed here will increase the areas of collaboration and added that it will also strengthen the bonds of friendship with the Peruvian people.

For his part, the president of the Cuban Olympic Committee, Roberto León Richard, stressed that the renewed agreement strengthens the intentions of expanding not only technical cooperation, but also in the training of human resources.

The area of sports medicine, he added, will be another essential sphere in which we will be able to strengthen ties, particularly with regard to Cuba’s anti-doping laboratory, which for almost three decades has been certified by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

In addition to its Peruvian counterpart, the Cuban Olympic Committee signed two other cooperation agreements with its Chilean and Colombian counterparts, in the context of the First Junior Pan American Games Cali-Valle 2021, which come to an end today.
