More than 110 films from 63 countries were screened during the event, held in the capital from November 25 to December 5.

During the closing ceremony, held last night, Egyptian star Mohamed Mamdouh received the Best Actor award for his role in Abu Saddam and the Best Actress award went to Swamy Rotolo for her work in the Italian feature film A Chiara.

Blind Spot, by Tunisian director Lotfi Achour, won Best Short Film.

For his part, Thierry Frémaux, director of the Cannes Film Festival, received an honorary trophy.
