This Wednesday’s number is only exceeded by yesterday’s 15,311 and the 14,894 of September 3, when this country was going through its worst moment of the fourth and current wave of the disease.

As on previous dates, the Ho Chi Minh southern City, the epicenter of the outbreak and the most populous city in Vietnam, reported the highest number of infected people, with 1,226.

The epidemiological situation also remains complicated in the capital, which reported 637.

With today’s cases, the total number of cases reached 1,382,272, of which 99.75 percent have been detected since the implosion at the end of April.

This day, the Health Ministry also reported 216 deaths due to the disease, bringing the accumulated total to 27,402 (783 times more than before the fourth wave).
