According to FANA Broadcasting Corporate, between August 31 and September 4, the insurgent group killed at least 26 citizens in 15 separate incidents occurred in Chenna, following sporadic fightings with the federal forces.
And in Kobo, a territory to which they invaded in mid-July, 23 individuals, among them several farmers, were shot in four separate situations on September 9.
Those killings highlight the urgent need so that the United Nations Human Rights Council establishes an international mechanism to investigate each of the abuses committed by the TPLF, the report suggested.
Witnesses of the killings, family members and neighbors of the victims, religious leaders and doctors, among others, were interviewed in Chenna and Kobo during September and October, as part of the investigation.
Since November 2020, the Government launched an offensive against the Front, the former ruling party of the Tigray region, declared terrorist by Parliament and accused of massacring civilians, among many other crimes.
