Bolivia blames developed countries for climate crisis

La Paz, Dec 11 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian Vice President David Choquehuanca on Saturday held developed countries accountable for global climate crisis and called for changing capitalist consumption model for one in harmony with the environment.

Mr. Choquehuanca said the developed countries live in a sort of “collective amnesia” by brushing aside their accountability for damaging environment and ecosystems, overexploitation of natural resources, among other negative effects.

“Climate crisis is pushing living things to biological and natural limits,” he said.

During his virtual speech at the 3rd International Congress on Constitutional Procedural Law, the Bolivian vice president pointed out that the unbridled consumption-focused live model is also the origin of present values, ethics, and health crises.

Instead, he referred to national initiatives such as the ¨Vivir Bien¨ policy conducted by the Bolivian Government through the enactment of laws aimed at reversing climate change.
