President of Iran conditions nuclear deal to western will

Ebrahim-Raeisi
Tehran, Dec 11 (Prensa Latina) The president of Iran, Ebrahim Raeisi, conditioned a good agreement on the nuclear dialogue underway in Vienna, Austria, to the will of the rest of the signatories of the Comprehensive Plan of Joint Action (JCPOA).

“Only if the counterpart is determined to eliminate US anti-Iranian measures, will there be compromise,” he said.

Raeisi specified that the enemy’s strategy is to maintain the sanctions, “and ours is to overcome them”.

After a five-month pause, delegates from Iran and the 4+1 group (United Kingdom, France, Russia and China plus Germany) resumed negotiations on November 29th to bring the JCPOA back, in crisis due to the exit of the United States.

Iran presented two drafts in those talks, the first under Raeisi’s presidency, one on the abolition of US sanctions and the other on Tehran’s return to its original commitments in the multilateral pact signed in 2015.
