Cuba reports record low of Covid-19 cases

Havana, Dec 12 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Public Health Ministry reported Sunday 62 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, a record low for the year, and no patient died from complications of the disease for a 0.86% lethality rate.

In Molecular Biology laboratories, 18,970 samples were analyzed to detect the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

Of the 331 active cases still in hospital, 315 have a stable clinical evolution and 16 people remain in intensive care, including five in critical condition and 11 in serious condition.

With the 65 clinical discharges granted today, a total of 954,927 patients have recovered for 99.1% recovery rate.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020, 963,628 cases were reported and the death toll amounts to 8,313.

Cuba ranks second among countries worldwide with most people vaccinated against Covid-19.
