Hanoi, Dec 12 (Prensa Latina) Vietnam on Sunday confirmed that, as of January 1, it will resume regular international flights to and from different destinations that are highly safe regarding Covid-19.

Quoted by the Vietnamese news agency, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh said that this decision meets the safe and flexible adaptation in the face of Covid-19 in support of air enterprises and, in general, the revival of the national economy.

According to the plan, the Ministry of Health will be in charge of issuing the medical guidelines those who arrive in the country must comply with, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will negotiate the mutual recognition of vaccination passports with other countries.

Vietnam suspended international flights in March, 2020. Since then, it has only allowed entry to Vietnamese repatriates, foreign experts, businesspeople and diplomats.

This country on Sunday reported 14,638 Covid-19 cases, a slight reduction compared to the record number on Saturday, but with the trend of previous days, so the total number of cases rose to 1,413,051. The Ministry of Health also reported 228 deaths, totaling 27,839 (795 times more than the new outbreak in April).
