According to the Russian Interior Ministry, the 18-year-old Vladislav Struzhenkov, a graduate of the center, was the perpetrator of the attack that occurred on Monday morning.

The teachers and students of the school were evacuated while the information about the victims and other circumstances of the incident is under investigation, the Ministry said.

A police source stated that Struzhenkov tried to commit the act during morning prayer, but the charge exploded at the entrance of the school; the young man lost a leg and is hospitalized in critical condition.

The police indicated that the motive for the action was presumed to be a conflict between the former student and other students and teachers at the school.

The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case for this attack under the articles on attempted murder and illegal possession of explosives.
