The December 13-16 program will be synchronized with that in Pakistan to enhance polio eradication efforts across the border, UNICEF stated in a communique.

This is the second campaign to reach children in almost inaccessible areas, TOLO News reflected.

The first round was launched in November and 8.5 million children under the age of five were vaccinated, included 2.4 million children who were immunized for the first time in more than three years.

Six more campaigns have been planned for 2022, World Health Organization (WHO) representative in Afghanistan, Dr. Dapeng Luo, said.
