Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, welcomed the participants at the venue of the event, headed by the organization’s Secretary General, Sacha Llorenti.
The presidents of Bolivia, Luis Arce; Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega; and Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro; as well as the prime ministers of Grenada, Keith Mitchell; and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves, are also attending the event.
Representatives from St. Lucia, Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda, and St. Kitts and Nevis are also participating.
The XX Summit coincides with the 17th anniversary of the mechanism, founded in Havana by leaders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez.
For the first time, this edition gathers representatives of the 10 member countries in person after the impact of Covid-19 to analyze the creation of joint strategies to face the post-pandemic stage, among other issues.
