Some 83.9 percent of Cubans with complete Covid-19 vacciantion scheme

Havana, Dec 16 (Prensa Latina) Some 9,388,653 Cubans (83.9 percent of the population) have received the complete vaccination schemed against Covid-19, the Health Ministry (MINSAP reported on Thursday.

According to the MINSAP’s website, 10,227,387 citizens have received the first dose of Cuban-made vaccines, 9,271,634 people have been immunized with two doses and 8,861,760 got the third dose and are currently under the process of receiving the Covid-19 booster.

Cuba’s vaccines are safe and cause no serious side effects. The strategy will be carried out in steps and is aimed at achieving greater protection against new variants of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, as well as the progressive flexibility of measures.

According to the National Statistics and Information Office, Cuba had a population of some 11,180,000 at the end of 2020.
