Cuba reports 73 new cases and no deaths due to Covid-19

Havana, Dec 17 (Prensa Latina) Cuba reported 73 new cases and no deaths due to Covid-19 on Friday, totaling 963,958 cases and 8,313 deaths since March 2020, the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported on Friday.

In its daily update, the MINSAP reported that 18,499 samples were processed for epidemiological control at the end of December 16, bringing the total to 11,414,517.

Per age group, there were 14 cases of children under 20 years of age, 14 patients between 20 and 39 years of age, 26 aged between 40 and 59, and 19 people over 60 years of age.

Nine of the cases came from abroad, and work is underway to determine the source of contagion in five of them.

There are 329 active cases in hospitals, 317 of whom are in a stable clinical evolution, eight in a severe state and four are critical.

On Thursday, 60 patients were discharged, so the number of recovered patients totals 955,259 (99.1 percent).
