Minister of Science and Technology Jitendra Singh headed the Indian delegation at the talks with Vietnamese Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha on collaboration in the field of oceans and seas, the Indian information bureau reported.
The Vietnamese delegation also included the deputy Director General of the Departments of International Cooperation of the Government of Vietnam, Tuan Negoc Le; the head of the Science and Technology Office of the Vietnamese Embassy, Li Truong Giang; and the representative of this sector, Andy Bui.
The Indian delegation was also made up of the secretary of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, M Ravichandran; the deputy secretary of that ministry, Indira Murthy; Doctor Vijay Kumar, and scientists Gopal Aiyneger, Parvinder Mani, K R Mangalaa and P K Srivastava.
Singh said that the bilateral agreement will make it possible to share information and resources related to the change of the coastline, the sediment transport rate and coastal protection measures.
He pointed out that the identification of the pilot location by Vietnamese and Indian experts will provide technical support to the development of a solution for coastal protection.
