In his video message broadcast on the Zvezda (Star) channel, the President referred to the complex international situation and the scale of the current challenges and risks, which, he stressed, require more demanding work of the special services.

According to Putin, it is important that the Russian security agencies continue to act effectively, under the coordination of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee, in order to eliminate the cells of these international groups in the country, as well as to discover and put an end to their contacts and subversive work.

He stressed that in the last 11 years the Eurasian nation achieved significant progress in combating such crimes, preventing more than 200 terrorist attacks. “We have achieved a radical reduction of the terrorist threat,” he noted.

The head of state explained that most of these actions are disarticulated in the preparation phase.

He reported that in the 11 concluded months of 2021, thanks to the coordination and efficiency of the security organs 61 crimes of this type were prevented, including 32 attacks.

“It is a good result, but there are still many problems,” the president said.

Every December 20 Russia celebrates this date in honor of the personnel of the Federal Security Service, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the Federal Protective Service and other state security agencies.
