At the end of December 20, Cuba accumulated 964,237 infections, 8,316 deaths and a 0.86% fatality rate, figures disclosed by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP, in Spanish).

Since past October, a control of the disease has been seen with the significant decreased daily cases, deaths and hospitalizations that, according to experts, is a reflection of the progress of the mass vaccination campaign with the country´s own vaccines.

Through December 19, as many as 29,370,584 Soberana 02 and Soberana Plus doses were applied.

9,498,051 people has been fully vaccinated, accounting for 84.9% of the country´s inhabitants (11.3 million), and 10,316,552 have received at least one shot, which includes those vaccinated with Soberana Plus as a single shot, MINSAP reported.

9,282,787 received two doses and 8,888,264 have received three shots.

Cuba also ranks first in Latin America and second in the world in immunization against infection, surpassed only globally by the United Arab Emirates, according to the Our World in Data website.
