Russia has the lowest number of Covid-19 cases since October

Moscow, Dec 24 (Prensa Latina) Russia today reported 24,703 new Covid-19 cases, the lowest figure since last October 1, totaling 10,343,353.

The maximum number of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infections were detected in this capital (2,126), in St. Petersburg (2,117), in the Moscow region (1,270), in Krasnoyarsk (600), in Krasnodar (581) and in Perm (580).

In the last 24 hours, 998 people died, the first time that this rate has fallen below 1,000 since October 18, reported the national operational staff for the fight against the pandemic.

With this figure, the country accumulates 302,269 deaths, which means a mortality rate of 2.92 percent, according to the center’s data.

At this moment, 860,705 people are still under medical care in the Eurasian nation.

During the last day, 41,213 patients were recovered -fourth consecutive day above 40,000-, amounting to 9,180,379, that is, 88.8 percent of the total number of infected people.
