The entry of humanitarian assistance through borders controlled by radical and separatist groups is in support of terrorist organizations and not civilians, and violates Syrian sovereignty, the deputy foreign minister said.
He explained that the government, in cooperation with Russia, took many measures to facilitate the return of the displaced and put an end to this tragedy, but the blockade and Western sanctions hinder their return. The diplomat said that there is currently no contact with the new US administration and demanded the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of its forces from the Syrian territories.
He denounced that the Daesh terrorist organization is active in the areas where US forces are present.
He stressed that “the US and Turkish occupation is the main reason for the prolongation of the war that Syria has been facing since 2011.”
