Egyptian dignitary congratulates president of Cuba

Havana, Dec 30 (Prensa Latina) The Egyptian president, Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi, today congratulated the president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, when approaches the celebration of a new anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution, and conveyed his desire to deepen bilateral ties.

In his letter, Al-Sissi emphasizes he takes the opportunity to “express my most genuine interest in continuing to foster the ties of friendship and cooperation that unite our two countries in various fields for the best interests of our peoples.”

The letter to which Prensa Latina had access emphasizes the desire of the Egyptian president for well-being and prosperity for the Cuban statesman and the friendly people of Cuba.”

Cuba and Egypt this year celebrated the 72nd anniversary of continued bilateral relations, established on September 5, 1949 and expanding in recent years.

Their governments agree on important issues on the international agenda, in particular the positive consultation within the United Nations, the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries and the Group of 77 plus China.

On a recent visit to the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, Ambassador Maher El-Adawy evaluated ways and actions to increase commercial ties between Cuba and Egypt and promote rapprochement between the business communities of both countries.
