A communiqué from Prosecutor General Al-Siddiq Al-Sour specified that the workers are accused of embezzling 1,800,000 dinars (about 393,000 dollars) from a private account in that bank, whose name is not mentioned.

The prosecutor’s office also initiated investigations against several employees of the National Anonymous Society of Cement for the illegal obtaining of large sums of money.

The entity ordered Toghi to be remanded in custody last night for alleged corruption charges, including embezzlement and forgery of documents.

She joins a long list of members of the interim National Unity Government who have been arrested for corruption, including the head of Education, the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and several advisors to Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah.
