In its most recent biweekly report, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs specified that the Israeli military demolished 161 buildings in the eastern part of the city, which the international community considers part of the future Palestinian state.

Another 691 were destroyed in the West Bank as part of the colonization strategy, the UN added.

Also according to the report, in 2021 Israeli troops launched over 3,400 capture operations in the territory and 40 incursions into the Gaza Strip, including the wave of bombings last May that caused more than 250 deaths.

The Agency’s information coincides with a rise in tension in the West Bank due to the increase in attacks by settlers and threats by Palestinian militias to restart their actions from Gaza due to Tel Aviv’s non-compliance with the agreements.

Both the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the Islamic Jihad group recently warned Israel of a new escalation if the siege and boycott of the process of rebuilding the territory continues.

Faced with international pressure, Israel promised after its offensive to allow the entry of basic products, construction materials and money for rehabilitation, but to date it has used various justifications to limit the process.
