Jan. 6 committee has firsthand knowledge of Trump’s role in the riot

Committee Vice Chairwoman Liz Cheney (R-Wyo) told ABC News the House committee has firsthand testimony revealing how Ivanka Trump – former president´s daughter – asked him to step in as his supporters ransacked the Congress.

Along the same line, House select committee Chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) spoke to CNN´s Dana Bash about former President Donald Trump´s role in the Jan. 6 insurrection.

The CNN claimed that one key witness who has given a deposition is Keith Kellogg, then-Vice President Mike Pence´s national security adviser, who was with Trump in the White House when the riot was happening.

Those statements about Jan. 6 investigations come just days before the first anniversary of what is considered as the most embarrassing episode in recent US history.

At least five dead, including a policeman, and more than 140 wounded left the violent protests 11 months ago, a fact considered by political observers as an “assault on democracy.”

Trump and his allies persist in distancing themselves from the facts and obstructing House select committee´s mission of clarifying the former President´s role in the insurrection.
