The Taliban rule out inclusion of former officials in new government

Kabul, Jan 4 (Prensa Latina) Afghan Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Ghani Baradar on Tuesday ruled out that the government might include members of the previous administration in its cabinet.

The official said at a press conference that the United States had suggested some members of the previous administration at the talks of Doha, Qatar, to meet this demand.

These people cannot be part of the government with us because, even if only five are included, they will damage our position and we do not want our government to be overthrown by those people, he said.

On the other hand, Baradar stressed that if the world does not recognize the government of the Taliban movement, Afghanistan will face an economic crisis that will not only affect the country, but also will have negative consequences for neighboring nations and the world.
