Cuba reports 967 Covid-19 cases and no deaths

Havana, Jan 5 (Prensa Latina) Cuba on Wednesday reported 967 new Covid-19 cases, 294 more compared to Tuesday's report, but no deaths from the pandemic.

The number of patients in hospitals rose to 8,711; including 5,270 suspected cases; 636 under epidemiological surveillance and 2,805 active cases (430 more than on Tuesday), according to the daily update published by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).

Of the total of cases reported until Tuesday, 801 patients were contacts of other infected people; 130 were infected abroad, and the origin of contagion of 33 patients could not be determined.

In the past few hours, 537 people were discharged from hospitals, so the number of recovered patients rose to 957,952 (98.8 percent of all cases).

Cuba has reported 969,138 Covid-19 cases since March 11, 2022, and the death toll remains at 8,324.
