The Public Health Ministry (MINSAP) assured that by the end of January the entire Cuban population should have received a new dose of the home-grown vaccines, the president wrote on his Twitter account.
According to statistics from MINSAP, 2,190,530 people have received the booster dose in Cuba, including 140,145 as part of the clinical studies and 2,050,385 for the booster vaccination, which is administered in selected territories.
Cuba has 9,673,087 people fully vaccinated against Covid-19, 86.5 percent of its entire population, a figure which keeps the country in the second place in the world in this indicator.
At the end of January 2, Cuba had administered 30,891,212 doses of the nationally produced Soberana 02, Soberana Plus and Abdala vaccines.
These figures place Cuba in the second place on the Oxford University statistics website, Our World in Data, only surpassed by the United Arab Emirates and followed by Portugal, both in the digits related to full and partial immunization.
