Cuba sends Soberana Plus Covid-19 vaccines to Nicaragua

Havana, Jan 6 (Prensa Latina) Cuba on Thursday sent a shipment of Soberana Plus Covid-19 vaccines to Nicaragua in order to complete the immunization scheme for pediatric ages in that country.

The information was announced in a message on its Twitter account of the Finlay Vaccines Institute (IFV), the institution where this product was developed and which is administered to adults and children from two to 18 years of age as part of a heterologous scheme of two Sovereign 02 doses and one Soberana Plus shot.

“Today doses of life are leaving for Nicaragua. The Finlay (Vaccines Institute) is proud that the children from that sister country complete their vaccination scheme with Cuba’s #SoberanaPlus vaccine,” according to the message from that center on the social network.

Soberana Plus is also administered as a booster to convalescent patients who suffered from Covid-19.

Since October 2021, Nicaragua has joined other countries such as Iran, Venezuela and Vietnam, which already administered vaccines created by Cuban scientific institutions to their population to fight the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
