The test, carried out on Wednesday, was witnessed by officials from the arms industry department of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and the branch of national defense’s sciences.

The successes achieved in such tests are aimed at boosting the modernization of the state’s strategic forces, which is included in the Five-Year Plan presented at the 8th WPK Congress, the academy said in a statement.

The institution confirmed the control and navigation stability of the missile in the active flight leg and assessed the executive capability of the lateral movement technology, newly introduced in the separate hypersonic navigation warhead.

The WPK Central Committee sent warm congratulations to the national defense’s science research sector, and expressed great satisfaction with the result of the experiment.
