Speaking at the 22nd Meeting of Foreign Ministers of this bloc, the Cuban foreign minister insisted on the willingness to preserve the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace and its full validity.
Rodriguez also praised the election of Argentina to the pro tempore presidency and extended his country’s support to strengthen Latin American unity.
At the same time, he expressed his support and solidarity with Argentina in its claim to the International Monetary Fund for the solution of the fraudulent inherited debt and the claim of sovereignty over the Falkland Islands and their maritime spaces.
The minister expressed his commitment to continuing consolidating regional and Caribbean unity and revitalizing CELAC.
In this regard, he acknowledged Mexico’s role in the temporary presidency of the organization and its activism in the last two years.
