A letter released Friday by the ACNC news agency noted that thanks to the efforts of the Chinese party, government and people under the leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping, the preparations for the 24th Winter Olympic Games are going well despite the global health crisis.

The DPRK Olympic Committee and Ministry of Sports also condemned the anti-Chinese plot schemed by the US and its satellites to prevent the successful opening of the sports festival as an insult to the spirit of the International Olympic Charter. The letter also expressed support and backing for all efforts to ensure a solemn and excellent Olympic festival, adding that the DPRK cannot participate in the event due to the moves of hostile forces and the global pandemic.

The message stressed the conviction that the Chinese athletes and people will successfully host the Winter Olympic Games by overcoming all kinds of hindrances and difficulties with the leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the Communist Party of China.

As part of its efforts to contribute to the strengthening and development of the traditional Korea-China friendship, the DPRK Olympic Committee will intensify friendly exchange with its Chinese counterpart, the letter concludes.
