Both parties met in Colombo on Sunday, and the Sri Lankan president said that this measure will be a great relief and a solution to the economic crisis resulting from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, Ceylon Today daily reported.

Rajapaksa pointed out that procuring a commercial credit plan in favorable conditions for Chinese imports would make it possible for local industries to work without any problems.

Rajapaksa thanked Beijing for the material and financial aid provided to fight the pandemic, such as the supply of Sinopharm vaccines for carrying out the immunization program.

Meanwhile, the Chinese foreign minister said that his country will always support Sri Lanka as a close friend.

He is paying an official two-day visit to Sri Lanka to launch the celebration of the 65th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations and visiting the port city of Colombo.
