According to a press release from the Syrian Presidency, the head of State highlighted the importance of creating new strategic projects to achieve a common benefit and strengthen business relations.
For his part, the Iranian minister noted that the railway connection between Syria, Iran and Iraq was addressed, and explained that project will take time due to problems in the railway infrastructure in this country.
In the same context, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Mekdad welcomed any kind of regional cooperation and charged that some countries do not want a prosperous future for the region and impose unjust economic sanctions.
Iran supports Syria militarily and economically and is deploying advisors and militias that support the army in its fight against terrorist organizations.
