China will also donate a series of technological equipment to the Ministry of Health, consisting of respirators, facemasks, tests, defibrillators, incubators for babies, catheters, oxygen cannulas, sheets, swabs, gloves, oxygen masks and protective clothing for health professionals.

The first donation of 200,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine arrived in Nicaragua on December 12, one of the first initiatives after the bilateral diplomatic relations were restored and the One-China principle was recognized.

A new batch of 800,000 doses and one million syringes were sent on December 24 and, according to official data, the vaccine developed by Beijing is the eighth to arrive in Nicaragua along with other international immunogens, such as the Russian Sputnik V and Sputnik Light vaccines.

The health authority notes a downward trend in the number of Covid-19 cases since the last week of September, as well as a decrease in the transmission and hospitalization of patients with the disease and a rise in the number of recovered people.
