The event is sponsored by the Sancti Spiritus branch of the Jose Marti Cultural Society (SCJM), which is named after Cuban National Hero Jose Marti (1853-1895).
Event Director Nelson Wenceslao Garcia told reporters that artists from nine provinces will participate in the exhibition.
He said that nearly 100 artwork have been received, including paintings and engravings, in which several techniques were used, namely oil, acrylic, stone, asphalt and even dirt. Mixed techniques were also used.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on January 18 and a painting session will take place on the banks of Yayabo River on January 19. The award ceremony will be held afterwards.
Sculptures will be between two and three centimeters tall. In general, all pieces will be less than 10 centimeters tall.
