Damascus, Jan 19 (Prensa Latina) The Turkish Army began to train 200 new members of the illegal armed groups it sponsors in Syria, to use different kinds of weapons, sources quoted by several media in Damascus revealed on Wednesday.

They stated that about 25 officers of the Turkish special forces arrived at the Al-Mastouma camp, located three kilometers south of Idlib city and houses the largest Russian military base in the area.

These soldiers began, according to sources, to train militiamen to use Turkish-made weapons, included portable anti-air rocket launchers, as well as different armored vehicles.

The extremists receiving the training are members of the so-called National Liberation Front founded by Ankara, which comprises a coalition of 11 illegal military formations, they stated.

So far, the training of 600 armed men has been completed and the objective is that a total of 1,500 soldiers are capable of using Turkish weapons on the front lines against the Syrian army.

Damascus has repeatedly denounced that presence, it described it as an occupation and assured that it prevents the complete liberation of its territory from terrorism.
