There are 33,710 patients in hospitals, 16,581 of whom are suspected cases; 160 are under epidemiological surveillance; and 16,969 are active cases (344 less than on Friday), according to the daily update issued by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP, in Spanish).
Some 3,304 people of the total number of cases reported on Friday were contacts of other patients; 42 got infected abroad, and the source of infection of 55 could not be confirmed.
Health authorities discharged 3,740 patients after recovering from Covid-19, so the number of recoveries rose to 993,218 (97.5 percent of all cases).
Some 16,669 patients are currently in hospitals, 16,917 of whom have a stable clinical evolution and 52 are being treated in intensive care units: 18 of them are in a critical state and 34 are in a serious one.
Cuba has reported 1,018,604 Covid-19 cases since March 11, 2020, and the death toll from this pandemic has risen to 8,358.
Therefore, Cuba reports 0.82 percent lethality rate, well below the 1.63 percent in the world and 1.96 percent in the Americas, based on the data issued by MINSAP.
This region reported 127,364,352 positive cases (1,309,758 more), 37.04 percent of the total number reported in the world, that is, 30,122,491 active cases and 2,490,316 deaths (4,467 more than the previous figure).
