American prima ballerina fulfills dream of training in Cuba

Havana, Jan 27 (Prensa Latina) Isabella Boylston, prima ballerina of the American Ballet Theater (ABT), of the United States, today considered it a dream come true to be rehearsed in Cuba by Viengsay Valdés, director of the National Ballet of this Caribbean island.

So sweaty but so happy. It was an honor and a dream come true to be trained by legendary dancer Viengsay Valdés, the American artist shared on her social networks along with a photo with the director and leading Cuban figure in a hall of the National Ballet of Cuba (BNC).

Boylston arrived in Havana as a staging assistant for the English choreographer Gemma Bond, who is staging a work here for the cast of the company founded in 1948 by Alicia, Fernando and Alberto Alonso.

These three Cuban artists were members of the ABT in New York, where Alicia Alonso reached the category of prima ballerina and is considered one of its historical glories.

The young North American dancer was moved to take classes with the group and has published several photos on her social networks where she is seen working enthusiastically, in addition to her gratitude for the possibility that the current director of the BNC rehearses her personally.

It is not the first time that Boylston has set foot in the halls of this venue, as she has danced as a guest artist at International Ballet Festivals in Havana.
