To this end, the diplomatic headquarters set up the electoral commission in charge of the procedure in which officials and staff of state-owned missions accredited in Ecuador will participate.

The swearing-in of the members of the electoral body, which will be led by Councilor Zudelis Cosano was one of the first actions carried out at the Embassy headquarters in this capital.

The four members of the Commission pledged to fulfill the tasks and functions inherent to their assigned responsabilities with professionalism, discipline, impartiality, transparency and veracity, in accordance with the principles and ethics that rule the electoral processes in Cuba.

The event, presided over by Ambassador Basilio Gutiérrez, was an opportunity to emphasize the importance of debate and consultation on the project, based on the reality of the Cuban family and with emphasis on rights. Cubans living in Ecuador, who will help enrich the debate with their opinions expressed on a digital platform created for this purpose, will be able to participate in the consultations, scheduled to take place from February to April.
