Mr. Xi extended greetings on behalf of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and government to all Chinese people of all ethnic groups, compatriots in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and overseas.

He stressed that the progress made in the last 100 years is due to the unified work of people and their partisan authorities.

“As long as the 1.4 billion Chinese people are always united and the 95 million CPC members always stay close to the people for a shared future, we surely can continue creating impressive miracles in the new journey ahead,” the Chinese president said.

Aside from Mr. Xi, several foreign rulers, leaders of international organizations and ambassadors also congratulated China on the anniversary of the Spring Festival, as it is also called the most momentous event in their culture.
