Convened by the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI), based in this capital, it promotes an exchange of experiences among members with an agenda aimed at cooperation.

Cuban representatives from the ministries of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment and Public Health, the Institute of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology, the Central Bank, General Customs and the Chamber of Commerce will participate in the forum.

Cuba’s permanent representation before ALADI, which is made up of 13 countries from the region, will also attend the meeting.

Some of the topics that will be discussed are the current state of the implementation of the Trade Facilitation Agreement, challenges arising from e-commerce, best practices in national border agencies and transit.

In this regard, the World Trade Organization, the World Customs Organization and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) are expected to make presentations.

According to ALADI documents, the concept of trade facilitation is defined as the rationalization, simplification, reduction or elimination of all measures or barriers that unjustifiably hinder international trade.
