Manzaneda, director of the Cubainformacion website, referred to the suffering caused by the economic, financial and commercial siege against the island, with particular impact on the lives of its population for several generations.
Despite the lies and the attemps in the corporate press to legitimize and justify an attempt of genocide against a country the Cubans have reached real achievements, Manzaneda added to Prensa Latina.
He stressed that those who claim that the blockade has no impact or simply does not exist, or even those who advocate its strengthening, “we would be talking about criminal proposals, because what they are after is the hunger, the illness of thousands of people to provoke the effect of a social outburst and the fall of a government”.
Manzaneda, who is also member of the State Movement of Solidarity with Cuba in Spain, pointed out that if the blockade does not really exist, why don’t they remove it and the excuse is over. “Unfortunately, there is no answer to that question, because it is evident that it produces part of the effects it is aimed to,” he said.
Undoubtedly, Cuba’s economic panorama would be much better today if there were no blockade, Manzaneda concluded.
