Paris, Feb 3 (Prensa Latina) Quest-France daily highlighted Cuba's success in vaccinating children over 2 years of age against Covid-19, an achievement that contrasts with the challenges of children immunization in world powers.

In the article, entitled “Cuba est l’un des premiers pays à avoir vacciné les jeunes enfants, et voici le résultat” (Cuba is one of the first countries to vaccinate children, and here is the result), its author highlighted the Cubans’ confidence in their healthcare system, which explains the record level of vaccination rates among children.

According to Cuban sources, 96.6 percent of the population between 2 and 18 years of age have already been immunized with the homegrown Soberana 02, Soberana Plus and Abdala vaccines.

Taking this into account is that the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, quoted by The Guardian and Reuters, reported that the Omicron variant of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus had a much lower impact than in other nations, including France, and a recent Covid-19 incidence rate of only 160 per 100,000 inhabitants, it stressed.

Quest-France noted that in the United States, Pfizer and BioNTech laboratories are awaiting authorization to vaccinate children from six months to four years of age with their products.

“Not far from US territory, in Cuba, almost all children are already vaccinated,” the French newspaper pointed out.
