The bodies were discovered in Ipsala, bordering Greece, and they are part of a group of 22 irregular migrants who were rejected by Greek border units, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, who accused those forces of taking inadequate procedures, denounced on Wednesday.

The nationality of those migrants is still unknown, said Soylu, who announced on Twitter that the European Union (EU) is “helpless, weak and inhumane” to deal with the situation.

For his part, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday that it is not the first time that expulsions from Greece are discovered, and ratified the EU complicit silence in this event.

Ankara has denounced similar situations almost daily and has blamed Athens for the deaths, an event that aggravates a long-standing dispute with the neighboring country and encompasses other areas of bilateral relations.
