An analysis of the results and prospects of foreign trade, foreign investment and international cooperation by the local government revealed that company exported eight of 10 new export items identified in 2021.

Besides the commercialization of those products in Italy, the enterprise also exported 260 containers of charcoal, worth over 1.4 million dollars.

Moreover, the other two products that were introduced in foreign trade were the eight-year-old Santiago de Cuba rum, through the Ron Santiago S.A. joint venture, and the Paticruzado rum, through the Caribex exporting enterprise.

A memorandum of understanding was signed by the non-agricultural cooperative Marco and the construction company Welch, Morris and Associates, from Trinidad and Tobago to export construction services.

Laboratorios Farmaceuticos Oriente, a subsidiary of BIOCUBAFARMA, has also an export potential and will expand the production of natural medicines, whose effectiveness and popular reception have been proven.

Ten companies are benefiting from foreign investments in Santiago de Cuba in the areas of foreign capital, joint ventures, production and hotel management contracts, including a plant for the industrial processing of protein plants for animal feed.
