Workers of the Linha Universitaria concessionaire of the Iberian infrastructure group Acciona are repairing the crater opened on Tuesday on the line number 6 of the urban network and under the road rails, Folha de S. Paulo newspapaer added.

Workers are laboring under pression to fill the hole that disabled the downtown Marginal Tiete highway of this popolous city, caused, according to experts, due to the rupture of a sewage pipe.

Wastewaters flooded the ventilation well of the construction site and provoked the detachment of part of the asphalt of the highway, between the Piqueri and Freguesia do Ó bridges.

The break of the pipeline occurred when the excavators working on the subway tunnels, whose works are being carried out by Acciona under a public-private partnership contract, passed about three meters below the proper level.

The company Concreserv, assigned for the concreting, declared to TV Globo that to fill the hole, after draining the water from the pipeline, it will need about a thousand truckloads of material.
