Vietnam makes its debut in a women’s soccer World Cup

Hanoi, Feb 6 (Prensa Latina) Vietnam will make its debut in a World Cup after the victory today of the women's team over its similar team of Taipei of China with a score of 2-1.

In a match played in the Indian city of Mumbai, the Vietnamese women showed a clear superiority over their rivals and took a quick lead when Chuong Thi Kieu scored with a header in the seventh minute.

China Taipei levelled the score in the 50th minute, but six minutes later Bich Thuy put the final score on the scoreboard.

In their third attempt to reach the Women’s World Cup, the Vietnamese team the last ticket to the event, which will be jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand in 2023.

The Indochinese media and social networks are celebrating their performance in style and President Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent them a Congratulations message.

The men’s team, meanwhile, no longer has a mathematical chance of participating in the World Cup in Qatar, agreed for this year, because they are in last place in Group B of the Asian qualifiers with only three points.
