Just as it is an honor for Cuba to host an event of this magnitude, it is also an honor for the participating artists, Conaci said in a statement signed by its coordinator, Ada Galano, in which she stated that “we Cubans that we love and build we will support.”

After censuring the attitude of some who declined to participate due to pressure from anti-Cuban elements based outside the Caribbean nation, the statement criticized those who refuse to “sing before the worthy Cuban people,” but do so in other countries known for frequent atrocities such as Chile, Colombia and the United States.

You are missing the sincere affection of a people that knows good music and good art, the statement indicated, emphasizing that “we are left with Buena Fe, Arnaldo, Haila, Abreu, Silvio and many others who represent us with dignity and courage.” .

The “Sanremo Music Awrads” is an entity created in 2001 by its director, the Italian artist and businessman Nicola Convertino, sponsor of the contest whose upcoming event will be organized from April 5 to 10 in collaboration with the Music Recording and Editions Company, in Havana.
